Back to France in three weeks!
I have just reminded myself that we come back to France 3 weeks today. Time has flown. I suppose because it’s been packed doing things. Memorably Monday and Friday's twin days. These have been a joy with our wonderful grandchildren. These two will make the return to France bittersweet. However, they are coming for 10 days when we first get there to help or probably hinder the getting ready process.
We have made the most of spending time with the family, enjoying a few trips and weekends away with them. In fact our last weekend in the UK we will be going to spend some time with George the eldest on the Norfolk coast. I had never really visited that area before until he went to university in Norwich but I do enjoy it. So different from Derbyshire and the Mont D’Arree. Of course, this means that I will have to be on the ball packing and getting everything ready to travel on the Wednesday. We have spent time with friends which has been lovely, I had a girly trip away which is always a blast but nowadays takes about a week to recover.
I have been working 3 days a week and met some lovely people. It’s kept my brain occupied and satisfied my passion for good quality social care.
Our house in the UK is constantly under a state of renovation. Every year we have big plans about what we will improve this winter. We have done a bit. Not as much as I would have liked, I might add, but I like what we have done. Slowly, slowly it will be finished at some point. I still haven’t emptied the garage which I had promised myself I was going to do as soon as we got back. No point stressing about it now. There is always next year.
Mr H does like to pace himself when we are back in the UK. But I suppose he does make up for it when we are in France. It's either all or nothing.
There will be so much to do in France before we reopen at Easter, We are having some more electric hook ups along with creating some more communal seating areas and hidden pitches in the woods. Alongside bringing the campsite back to life after a winter unattended.
So back to the return and what to do about Digger the campsite dog? Digger is now 14 which is a very good age for a large dog. He had a medical emergency before Christmas and I thought that we would have to put him to sleep. For the first couple of days I wished I had been brave and done the deed in the first instance. I just couldn’t bear to see him like he was. Digger had other ideas though and rallied well getting back to his old self and enjoying the things he could still do. Barking, eating, wagging his tail and having a little wander round.
Anyway he is booked on the ferry with us. I think that he would want to come back to France with us and see all his friends. I will check to see what the vet thinks before we travel.
I am looking forward to getting back to it and running the little business we created. Bookings are coming in so hopefully we will have a good summer. We have kept our prices reasonable with no great price hikes as we know that everyone is struggling with the cost of living rises. Everyone deserves to spend time in a beautiful relaxing place with family, friends and pets.
We look forward to welcoming you. We will be open on the 7th April.
