Joyeux Noël 2024

Happy Christmas!

I hope that you are all enjoying the run up to the festive season. It seems there is plenty going on in Brittany: illuminated chateaux, Christmas markets and plenty of luxurious food of course.

After a busy and long season, we are spending some family time back in the UK at the moment. Thoroughly enjoying the grandchildren and reconnecting with family and friends.

Whilst I love France and the business we have created, the downside is missing these little bundles of pure energy!! They do come and see us in France regularly during the season. They love the lake, the freedom of the campsite, grandma's trampoline and of course the seaside.

One of their favourite places to visit is Oceanopolis in Brest. We tend to go every year, and they love it. I always recommend it to our visitors.

This year they are coming for their 4th birthday at the end of September, and I am planning to take them to Disneyland in Paris, what a treat that will be!! It must be 25 years since I have been there.

So we had packed the campsite away in October having stayed open longer than usual. We will probably try this again.

Then, of course, we had our trip to Jamaica for a friend’s wedding. We had never had a holiday like it, all inclusive on a beach. Mr H was a bit worried that he would get bored, but it turned out that he was rather good at doing nothing!!

We are rejuvenated!! I was offered some part time work in health and social care which I am enjoying. It keeps me on my toes and I'm working with a lovely bunch of people.

I have been trying to keep fit as well - playing badminton, cycling and walking. I need something to keep my strength up!! So I can arrive in March and tackle the leaves on the campsite!!

I am also aware of a pending birthday in February. I can’t believe I will be 60! How on earth did that happen?

So that gives me a dilemma of how to celebrate and what is appropriate for a 60-year-old. Watch this space…

We will be back open on the first April, We really look forward to seeing you all in 2025.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year however you celebrate.
